We are a new and inclusive community of art enthusiasts who are embarking on an art collecting journey. The ‘art-world’ is not for the rich and famous: anyone can start a collection, whatever your budget and have fun doing it too.
About
Founded by Hannah Munby, the Young Collectors is a community of early stage and beginning art collectors.
“I am an art collector, in the least pretentious sense of the phrase. I grew up in a house with art on the walls and went to art school, so starting my own collection was a natural step for me. I know that not everyone comes to it in that way, but I hope to share with the community knowledge from my own experiences of working in the industry for the last 6 years”
Inspiring a new generation of collectors
It’s often thought that the ‘art-world’ is an exclusive space, but we’re here to break down those barriers. We want to encourage and inspire a new generation of art collectors who will continue to support the eco-system of the art industry.
Hannah, who runs Fen Ditton Gallery with her mum Lotte, said the idea of the Young Collectors came to her whilst at the gallery: “It occurred to me that the younger buyers who are just starting their own collections often ask us similar questions about limited edition works or framing, so I just thought wouldn’t it be great if I could bring all these people together to learn from each other and form a new community of young collectors”
