In his work, Isaac Heard uses fictional narratives and masks to ask questions about climate change and climate justice. He focuses on aspects of deep time and how the Earth might experienced from a detached sentient being.
Having completed a Masters at Glasgow School of Art and now studying at The Royal Drawing School, Heard works most predominantly with drawing and printmaking to explore fictional narratives and histories.
He is also concerned with trying to imagine non-human perspectives such as ghosts, planets, plants and animals to consider deep time and the interwoven nature of Earth and life. Being a committed meditator, Heard is interested in making tactile work that appeals to the body as much as the mind.
