Let's Talk Colour

Fen Ditton Gallery’s current exhibition is all about colour… the colour yellow to be precise! What’s exciting about the series of colour exhibitions, of which ‘Going Yellow’ is the third, is that it puts together artists who ordinarily wouldn’t be hung in the same room, and allows the impact and symbolic power of a single colour speak for itself.

At this Young Collectors’ event, we will be exploring of our responses to colour, what it might means to us, and how we can start to think about colour as a basis to grow our own art collections.

The Art of Printmaking

Our first event of the new year will be taking place at Fen Ditton Gallery's exhibition The Language of Abstraction, celebrating the work and artist collaborations of master-printmaker, Kip Gresham.

We are delighted to have Kip's apprentice, Callum Rose, at the event in conversation with Hannah. Callum has recently been involved in the production of a Quintet portfolio published by The Print Studio, Cambridge, the proceeds of which are funding his apprenticeship. An artist and printmaker, Callum is now learning the skills and techniques from Kip, who plans to instruct him in the coming years and is keen to pass on his experience.

Art and the Environment: What does your art collection say?

The natural world has been an inspiration for artists for generations, often using their medium as a catalyst for change and to raise awareness of global environmental causes.

The aim of this talk will be to introduce you to a variety of new art forms, glass, sculpture, printmaking, silver to name a few, but also to explore the ways your collection can express your values and beliefs.
